Walking through the vineyards of Rayas and sticking one’s hand in the sandy soil, one can imagine how water quickly drains away from the thirsty vines and leaves them to struggle and stress, ultimately creating the haunting, enamoring wines that are the signature of this Estate. From these meager yields (often a ton or less an acre) comes one of the most revered and enigmatic wines ever fashioned. Wonderful perfumed nose - raspberry and cherry fruit mixed with earthy notes soaring from the glass.
